Important Update
Bright Rides is a state-funded grant program, and we have been able to offer free rides to students thanks to this grant. The grant was guaranteed for two years, through the end of the 2023-24 school year. However, because the grant is ending, we will not be able to guarantee transportation through the Bright Rides program in the 2024-25 school year— and the Bright Rides program will end at that time.
Student will continue receiving free transportation through the end of the 2023-24 school year — they will still have their scheduled rides until school is out at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

Catch a free ride to your new school
Did you know your Adams 14 student may be eligible to receive free transportation to a Denver school that best fits their needs? During the 2023-24 school year, the Bright Rides program can get them there!
What is Bright Rides?
A new opportunity
The Bright Rides program launched in 2022 as an opportunity to provide most Adams 14 students in elementary and high school with free transportation to a high-quality school that best fits their needs.
A trusted resource
This opportunity is made possible by a State grant as a way to make sure all Adams 14 students have access to a good education. The grant is facilitated through community partnerships, including with Transform Education Now and RootED Denver, and is supported by the Colorado Department of Education. It’s designed to make sure students receive the education that best fits their unique needs and provides transportation to and from school.
A ride to school
Transportation is provided for free through HopSkipDrive, a school transportation service that’s trusted by parents throughout the country for their extensive accountability standards and stellar safety record. All drivers from HopSkipDrive are fully approved and experienced, so you can rest assured that your child is in good hands.
Who can participate?
Students who live within the boundaries of the following Adams 14 schools are able to participate in this program:
- Alsup Elementary
- Central Elementary
- Dupont Elementary
- Adams City Middle School
- Adams City High School
At this time, transportation with Bright Rides is only available if a student lives within the boundaries of the schools listed above.
We hope every student can find the school that best fits their unique needs, and that they have a way to get there. If your student doesn’t live within the boundaries of the eligible schools, please email info@brightrides.org and we’ll see what other solutions may be available.
Where can participating students go?
Through Bright Rides, eligible students can receive free transportation to Denver schools that are found to be higher performing.
Please note that every Adams 14 student will need to participate in the Denver Public Schools enrollment process, and acceptance into the school is not guaranteed.
